to whom it may concern:

if i stopped following your blog it is nothing personal...

i simply do not have the time to devote the attention to all of you that richly deserve more than i can give.

i say this not as the snarky guy that writes (or used to write) 4 blogs but as a fellow comment and attention addicted bloggerer that can't find the time to write  his own blogs, and respond to the comments, let alone read and comment on others.

please accept my humblest of apologies...
if you respond in kind i totally understand...

but remember i know where you live...
of course i do not even have a clue as to where you live...that was a joke...

  1. Hey Bruce - I just did a little housekeeping of my own blog so I know what you're dealing with.

It's easy to press the follow button, but to actually follow and comment is time consuming. We all have the same twenty-four hours and I have found myself needing to restructure how I spend those hours. Life is too short to be stuck in cyber space when what really matters is what is going on in our "real-time" worlds.

Blogging is awesome, I've enjoyed being a blogger and have enjoyed the blogs (your blogs being on the top of my list) I follow, but have really pared it down over these last few months.

You know, Bruce, if a blog makes me laugh or really think about something then I'm in...all in and I comment. As you know, I'm the queen of commenting and I like taking the time to leave a comment that is more than just "great post" - I want you and the few others I visit to know I actually read your stuff and can comment on it with more than two words.
That's where the time investment is, isn't it. It's in the commenting and I am more interested in my commenters than in whose actually following me - that might just cause everyone following me to say "screw you" and then leave, but hey, if that's how it plays out so be it!

You just keep blogging for you, and I'll keep reading and those diehards that enjoy you as much as I do will still keep popping in to say hello.

Righty-o, look at that, I've just written a post!

    Hugs my cyber friend,
    Jenny

  2. No worries, my friend, my friend. I don't need an icon on my blog to know that you are in my heart. Where you shall always remain.
You know where to find me if you need me. Take care darling.
    Love ya! Skippity-do-dah-day!

  3. Not a problem there big guy. Sometimes we have to take a step back and take a breather.

Besides, we got each other on Facebook. :D

For me, I've been tightening things up by subscribing to everyone's feeds. I follow a few more now, but that mostly in return when I get a drive by commenter.

  4. You won't lose this sister, that's for sure. Write when you can, comment when you can, send a note when you can. That's all we can do right?

  6. Don't worry about it Bruce... everyone does it! Most of the time, I am way way too sore and in too much pain to sit at the computer and read others blogs, and for that I feel ridiculously guilty because of how many unbelievably kind and loyal people I have hit my blog daily, but I had to come to terms that my body takes preference over everything else unfortunately and I can't change that. So now that I babbled on about me, all I meant to say was do what you have to my friend!

  7. I agree it's tough. I don't follow too many blogs mainly because I feel guilty if I can't get to them all the time. Some I follow and they turn out to be sucky so I unfollow. No big deal. It's my computer and my time so I choose wisely. Best of luck to you!

  8. I think everyone understands needing to trim back on the number of blogs we follow. It is time consuming to dedicate yourself to reading and commenting on the many blogs we follow. It is absolutely understandable! Hugs to you and Tucker.

  9. I don't have one of those "followers" thingers on my blog so I guess I wouldn't know if someone started OR stopped following me. After moving to WP I was kinda bummed I couldn't add it on the free version but, now that I don't have it, I feel like I'm writing things because I wanted to; not because I thought I would get a "follower" out of it. I do know when someone subscribes though..... ;o)
